The old high school building from which I graduated under Mrs. Watts & Mrs. McKeever somehow still stands. They both remain along with my family to be the foundation of my life's sense of morality & purpose. ...never to be forgotten!

Mrs. McKeever was like my second mother in high school to me. I have a lot of good memories of her. Her children (Cynthia and Kevin) were like my sister and brother. I will never forget the day that Cynthia and I was playing basketball and we decided to ride with her mother instead of the basketball team's bus. Cynthia and I didn't do something that Mrs. McKeever told us to do. And boy - she did not take us to the game that night. I told Mrs. McKeever that we both were starters. She turned and look at us like "so". And then I said, "Mrs. McKeever I'm a star" and she said "take your star behind and finishing doing what I asked you and Cynthia to do". Well, Quitman loss that night and Cynthia & I from that point on rode the bus. Mrs. McKeever was a very soft spoken person that loves to help you to be a better person. She loved her husband and children. But when they got some grandchildren - they would said this is why MC and Mira Ann smiles all the time - Mr. & Mrs. McKeever loved their grandchildren so much. Rest in Peace Mrs. McKeever! Love You!!!!
